Our vision when Fugitive Motel was set up in June 2019, was to build a community focused food and drink brand that would put genuine choice and authentic hospitality at the heart of what we do.

Inspired by the spirit of U.S motels and mid-century design, Fugitive Motel is a multi-dimensional destination bar with striking personality.

The Team

ON THE RUN

The genesis of what would become Fugitive Motel bar developed over a number of years between Founders, Liam Tolan and David Burgess.

With two other old school friends, the pair would take annual trips away to the world’s best beer destinations. A quest for discovery, became a kooky obsession for the latest drinks trends, with ideas picked up from across Europe and the U.S helping to hone their vision.

The Founders are backed by a shareholder group who passionately share their vision.

Fams cut his teeth gaining experience at some of London’s finest brasseries before moving to the Casual Dining Group. Heading up teams across a number of sites over the last 8 years, Fams built his reputation securing a series of 5 Star Food Standards Agency reviews.

FRONT OF HOUSE

Carl Jewitt

General Manager

After moving to London in 2012 from Cumbria, Carl’s first job in Hospitality was as a Chef. In 2015, Carl moved Front of House and has since managed a number of different hospitality venues across London, including an artisan coffee shop, large pub and urban winery!
